One of the benefits of having life-long friends is gaining a second family. The Alexanders have been my second family since the second grade, and I could not be more thankful for them and everything they have done for me.
With this relationship comes opportunities to witness things in life that are personal and intimate.
On Sept. 23, 2017, Jack Grimes (more commonly known as Grandpa Jack) married Elsie, a beautiful Christian woman he met at church. Having both lost their spouses, they were introduced in order to provide comfort and companionship for each other. Little did everyone know that this companionship would soon blossom into a marriage relationship.
When one of my best friends and Jack's granddaughter, Sadie, told me he was getting married again, I could not have been more surprised and happy for him. A couple weeks later the family asked me to come and be a part of this special in-home wedding ceremony for family only, and I was overjoyed. I am so grateful for my relationship with this family, and I look forward to getting to know Mrs. Elsie Grimes as a new member of that family.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Grimes!
